Terms of Service
Effective date: May 18, 2026
Welcome to VoltSites. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the VoltSites website subscription service. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these Terms.
Questions? Email hi@voltsites.com.
1. What VoltSites Is
VoltSites provides managed website subscriptions for local service businesses. We design, build, host, and maintain your website based on the subscription you choose.
VoltSites is not a do-it-yourself website builder. You request changes through our support channels, and we handle them for you.
2. Your Account
To use VoltSites, you must:
- Provide accurate and current contact and business information
- Keep your login credentials secure
- Be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of your business
You are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Billing
VoltSites is a monthly subscription service. Pricing and what’s included are shown at signup.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel
- Payment is processed through Stripe
- You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis
- If a payment fails, we may suspend your site until payment is resolved
We may change pricing or features. If a change affects your subscription, we will give you reasonable notice before it takes effect on your next billing cycle.
4. What’s Included
In general, VoltSites provides:
- A professionally built website tailored to your business
- Hosting on VoltSites infrastructure
- Ongoing support for content and site updates (via the portal or email)
- A VoltSites subdomain (e.g. yourbusiness.prod.voltsites.com)
Custom domains: You may connect your own domain. VoltSites does not register or provide a domain. You are responsible for purchasing, renewing, and maintaining your domain and updating your DNS when we give you instructions.
Contact forms: Where included in your subscription, form submissions are delivered to the email address you provide. You are responsible for monitoring and responding to leads.
Specific features and limits are described at signup and may vary by subscription level.
5. Platform and Capabilities
VoltSites is a specific, standardized website system with defined layouts, features, and capabilities. Your website is built and maintained within this system — not as a fully custom-built product from scratch.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your requests within what the VoltSites platform supports. This includes routine content updates, configuration of available page types and modules, and adjustments that fit within the system’s existing design and functionality.
VoltSites does not offer custom development. We do not build bespoke features, custom integrations, one-off page designs, or functionality outside the VoltSites platform. Requests that require custom development may be declined or deferred.
If you need something the platform does not support, we will let you know. We are not obligated to fulfill requests that fall outside the system’s capabilities.
6. Your Content
You provide the business information, text, images, logos, reviews, and other materials that appear on your site (“Your Content”).
You represent that:
- You own Your Content or have permission to use it
- Your Content is accurate and does not violate any law or third-party rights
- Claims on your site (licenses, certifications, pricing, service areas, etc.) are truthful
You grant VoltSites a license to use, display, and publish Your Content solely to operate and maintain your website while your subscription is active.
You remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of everything on your site. VoltSites does not verify licenses, credentials, or business claims.
7. Support and Updates
Site changes and updates are handled asynchronously through our support system. Submit requests through your dashboard or email hi@voltsites.com.
Your subscription includes a reasonable number of routine site changes each month. Routine changes include updates to text, images, contact information, services, reviews, and similar content within the scope of your existing website and the VoltSites platform.
This is not an unlimited editing service. Requests that go beyond routine updates — such as a full redesign, functionality outside the platform, or work unrelated to your VoltSites website — may be declined, deferred, or quoted separately at our discretion.
We aim to respond within one business day. Response times may vary based on request volume and complexity.
VoltSites reserves the right to refuse, limit, or pause change requests if we determine that requests are excessive, repetitive, abusive, made in bad faith, or otherwise outside the intended use of the service. In such cases, we may contact you to discuss your subscription or terminate service as described in Section 8.
8. Our Right to Refuse or Terminate Service
VoltSites reserves the right to refuse service, decline a subscription, or suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that:
- You have violated these Terms
- Your content or business is unlawful, misleading, or harmful
- Your use of the service poses a risk to VoltSites, other customers, or third parties
- Payment is overdue or your account is otherwise in bad standing
- We are unable to serve your business for any other reason at our sole discretion
If we terminate your account for cause, you are not entitled to a refund for the current billing period. We may take your site offline immediately in these cases.
We may also decline specific content updates or requests that fall outside the scope of your subscription, violate these Terms, or that we otherwise choose not to implement.
Excessive or abusive change requests, including attempts to use the service as unlimited on-demand design or development, may be treated as a violation of these Terms.
9. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Manage subscription link in your dashboard (Stripe billing portal).
When you cancel:
- Your subscription will not renew for the next billing period
- Your website will go offline at the end of your current paid billing period
- VoltSites is not obligated to keep your site live after that date
Website export: After cancellation, you may request an export of your website. The export includes a static copy of your site (HTML, images, JavaScript, and related files). Exports are available for a separate export fee, quoted when you request it. Contact hi@voltsites.com to arrange an export.
Until the export fee is paid and the export is delivered, you do not receive a copy of your site files or content from VoltSites.
10. Refund Policy
VoltSites offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first subscription payment only. If you are not satisfied within 30 days of your initial payment, contact hi@voltsites.com for a full refund.
After 30 days, subscription fees are non-refundable, including partial months. Canceling stops future charges but does not refund the current billing period.
11. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use VoltSites to:
- Publish illegal, fraudulent, or misleading content
- Infringe on anyone’s intellectual property or privacy
- Distribute spam, malware, or harmful code
- Impersonate another person or business
- Use the service in any way that could harm VoltSites, other customers, or third parties
12. Availability
We work to keep your site online and performing well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Outages, maintenance, and third-party service issues (hosting, DNS, payment processing) may occasionally affect your site.
We are not liable for downtime, lost leads, or lost business resulting from service interruptions.
13. Intellectual Property
The VoltSites platform, website theme, design system, and underlying technology remain the property of VoltSites. Your subscription grants you the right to use the resulting website while your subscription is active. It does not grant ownership of the platform itself.
Your Content remains yours, subject to the license in Section 6.
14. Disclaimer
VoltSites is provided “as is.” We make no warranties, express or implied, about fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or results (such as leads, rankings, or revenue).
We are not a law firm, marketing agency, or licensing authority. You are solely responsible for compliance with laws and regulations applicable to your business and industry.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VoltSites will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost leads, or lost data, arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim related to your subscription will not exceed the amount you paid to VoltSites in the 12 months before the claim.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of VoltSites after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email or through the portal.
17. General
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
These Terms, together with your subscription selection at signup, constitute the entire agreement between you and VoltSites regarding the service.
